1TEC Auto Hub conference and awards photography at Silverstone

The 1TEC Auto Hub conference at Silverstone on 7 May 2026.

In May 2026, I photographed the 1TEC Auto Hub conference and awards dinner at Silverstone. My booking ran from 8am to 10pm, covering the daytime conference and trade show through to the evening drinks reception and awards.

The brief was to capture the event as a whole: the presentations, exhibition, delegate interactions and evening celebrations. I’d photographed events at Silverstone before, and this programme brought together conference sessions, activity in the pit garages and a reception in the pit lane.

Conference photography and a trade show in the pit garages

My daytime coverage included presentations on the main stage, panel discussions and smaller breakout sessions, alongside photographs of the audience and delegates talking together.

Away from the main stage, I photographed the smaller breakout sessions and the conversations between delegates.

The trade show took place in the pit garages, with racing cars on display alongside supplier stands. Photographing the exhibition added another part of the day’s story, showing the conversations and activity away from the main conference stage.

As a Formula 1 fan, I particularly enjoyed working in the pit garages and pit lane. Even having photographed at Silverstone before, it was a setting I was very pleased to return to.

An event hosted by Mark Durden-Smith

Mark Durden-Smith hosted the event. I’ve photographed him hosting corporate events before and have always been impressed by his preparation, humour and ability to keep the programme moving. Those qualities stood out again here.

From the pit-lane reception to the awards dinner

The evening began with a drinks reception in the pit lane before the dinner and awards.

My coverage included guests talking over drinks, wide views of the dinner, audience reactions and guests celebrating with their trophies.

Around 1,200 photographs delivered within two days

I supplied approximately 1,200 photographs within two days of the event, bringing together coverage of the conference, trade show, drinks reception and awards dinner.
