Hotel, Spa and Food Photography at Ragdale Hall Luxury Spa

More Than Thirteen Years Working with Ragdale Hall

I've been photographing Ragdale Hall Luxury Spa for more than thirteen years now, and I'm incredibly proud to say that almost all of the photography you see across their website and social media has been created during that time.

Rather than commissioning one large shoot every few years, we work together on regular half-day content sessions every four to six months. It's an approach that keeps the photography fresh, allows seasonal updates and gives the marketing team a constant flow of new content.

For a business like Ragdale Hall, it's a simple but effective way of making sure the photography continues to reflect the guest experience.

A Content Day with Plenty of Variety

This shoot included a bit of everything.

Alongside photographing breakfast in bed, I also captured new food photography, staff headshots and images around the grounds.

That's one of the things I enjoy about working with Ragdale Hall. Every visit is different and there's always something new to photograph.

Creating a Bright Breakfast Feel

The main focus of this shoot was breakfast in bed.

The aim was to create photographs that felt bright, fresh and inviting, giving the impression of waking up to breakfast delivered straight to your room.

To achieve that look I used direct flash rather than relying solely on the available light. It helped lift the scene and gave the photographs the clean, bright morning feel we were looking for.

Sometimes the simplest lighting approach produces exactly the right result.

Photographing the Guest Experience

When photographing hotels and spas, it's important to show more than just the rooms.

Guests are buying an experience.

That means photographing the food, the facilities, the treatments, the surroundings and all the details that help people imagine themselves staying there.

Those photographs become valuable across websites, brochures, social media and future marketing campaigns.

One of My Favourite Places to Work

I've actually been to Ragdale Hall as a guest myself.

The photography gives me a good excuse to visit regularly, but experiencing it from the other side helped me understand why so many people return year after year.

The food was excellent, the treatments were first class and I completely switched off for the day.

The highlight?

Three very impressive afternoon naps.

I don't think I've ever been quite so relaxed.

Hotel and Spa Photography Across the UK

Working with Ragdale Hall for more than thirteen years has shown just how valuable regular photography can be.

A planned content shoot every few months keeps websites current, provides a steady stream of images for social media and allows businesses to continually showcase new experiences.

It's a relationship I'm incredibly grateful for and one I hope continues for many years to come.
