Headshots at Clearer’s Leicester HQ
Cool offices and a friendly team made this a very enjoyable shoot for Clearer. I was at their Leicester HQ to photograph the team’s headshots, alongside some photographs around the office of people at work.
For the portraits, I kept the setup simple: one light and a collapsible backdrop. It’s about as straightforward as a headshot setup gets, and I really like the results.
One light and a little shadow
One of my favourite things about these portraits is the depth that comes from leaving some shadow in the face. The light falls gently across the features, giving shape to the cheeks and jaw. It’s subtle, but it makes a difference.
The pale backdrop keeps the photographs uncluttered and lets the faces hold your attention.
Keeping the equipment simple also leaves me free to concentrate on the person in front of the camera. Small changes in head position and expression can make a surprisingly big difference to a portrait.
A team with plenty of character
There’s a lovely range of expressions across this set, from broad grins to quieter smiles. I like that variation. Consistent lighting gives the headshots a common appearance, while each person brings something of their own to the photograph.
There was even room for a dog in one of the portraits. That photograph gives a fair idea of how much fun the shoot was.
Alongside the headshots, I photographed the team working around the office. Those photographs add another side to the shoot, showing the people in their everyday surroundings. With offices like these, it was good to include some of that setting too.
I provide corporate team headshot photography at workplaces across the UK. Please get in touch if you’d like to arrange a shoot for your team.
