Conference Photography for Oriflame at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole
Returning to Photograph Another Oriflame Conference
I was recently back at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole in Birmingham photographing a training conference for Oriflame.
This was my sixth shoot for the client and it’s always one I look forward to. The team are great to work with, the delegates are engaged from start to finish and there’s always plenty going on throughout the day.
With around 300 delegates attending, the event brought together training, recognition, motivational presentations and product-focused sessions, creating a packed programme from start to finish.
Conference Photography at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole
The Hilton Birmingham Metropole is one of the UK’s leading conference hotels and a venue I’ve worked at many times over the years.
Its size and layout make it ideal for large conferences, corporate meetings and training events. With multiple conference spaces, breakout areas and exhibition zones, there’s plenty of room for organisers to build a varied and engaging programme.
The venue’s events team were excellent as always and helped ensure the day ran smoothly for both delegates and organisers.
Photographing 300 Delegates Throughout the Day
One of the things I enjoy about Oriflame events is that people want to be there.
They’re interested in the presentations, excited about the products and happy to have their photograph taken. That makes a big difference when you’re photographing a conference.
With 300 delegates spread throughout the venue, there was always something happening. While presentations were taking place in the main conference room, there were also conversations in breakout spaces, people looking at products and delegates catching up with colleagues throughout the hotel.
For a conference photographer, it’s the sort of event where you’re constantly moving because there’s always another photograph worth taking.
More Than Speakers on a Stage
When people think about conference photography, they often think about speakers standing on a stage.
Those photographs are important, but they’re only part of the story.
I’m also looking for audience reactions, networking, conversations between delegates, people interacting with products and all the moments in between that show what the day was actually like to attend.
These are often the photographs clients use most afterwards because they help show the scale, energy and personality of the event.
Working With a Long-Term Client
Having photographed several events for Oriflame over the years, I have a good understanding of the range of images they need.
Knowing how a client works allows me to anticipate key moments, understand what is important to them and work efficiently throughout the day.
That familiarity helps ensure the final gallery includes a strong mix of presentation photographs, delegate interaction, product imagery and the wider event environment.
Why Professional Conference Photography Matters
A conference may only last a day or two, but the photographs often continue to be used long after the event has finished.
Images from conferences are regularly used across websites, social media, presentations, internal communications and future event marketing.
A strong conference gallery should not only show what happened on stage but also give people a sense of what it was like to attend the event.
Conference Photography Across Birmingham and the UK
This was another enjoyable shoot with a long-term client and a great example of the conference photography work I regularly provide across Birmingham, the Midlands, London and throughout the UK.
If you’re organising a conference, training event or corporate meeting and need professional conference photography, I’d be happy to discuss your requirements.
