The launch of the Bentley GT Continental was celebrated with a sensational launch party at this prestigious London dealership. The live entertainment, VIP guests enjoying drinks and canapés and the eagerly-awaited reveal of the car itself by four glamorous models were all recorded by SMD Photography.

At the Annual Awards Ceremony and Conference for Aurum Holdings (Goldsmiths, Watches of Switzerland and Mappin & Webb), SMD Photography was on hand to capture everything from the opening lunch to the evening ceremonies. Services included full on-site printing facilities and, with more than 450 delegates in attendance, it made for a very long but rewarding day.

Leicestershire showman Adam Thomas commissioned SMD Photography to capture his performance when he entertained party goers at the Leicester Tigers this Christmas. As Adam wanted to use the images in his marketing campaigns, it was more important than ever to ensure they had the WOW factor.

With more than 1,350 people in attendance, the Christmas do for Next’s headquarters staff was certainly some party. Besides trying to get round all of the guests, SMD Photography was kept busy shooting the after dinner entertainment and a concert by a chart topping act.

The Grand Summer Ball for Patek Phillipe, one of the world's premier watchmakers, was certainly among the most prestigious events I covered in 2010. From the superb location and food to the high quality entertainment and product demonstrations, everything about this dinner oozed class and luxury.

Possibly my most unusual commission of 2010 involved Darth Vader’s costume from The Empire Strikes Back and the gun from the poster for the James Bond film From Russia with Love! These were just two of the lots I photographed for a popular culture auction held at one of the UK's most prestigious auction houses.

Despite bad weather, SMD Photography recorded everyone having a great time at this tasting evening for the three bars and restaurants situated in the Highcross Shopping Centre. The Almanack, Canas-y-Tapas and 1573 Bar and Grill had planned to hold the evening in the square that they all share, but rain meant the event – and the photographer – had to move into The Almanack.
