Krystal and Robin were clearly very creative and there was so much thought that went into styling the wedding. From table centrepeices that had goldfish happily swimming around to herbs used as place names.

It was clear, especially from the speeches, that Krystal and Robin were very much in love and clearly meant to be together. I wish them a long and happy life together.

I’d never filmed any video on my camera before and it took me about five minutes to find the correct settings. I had a good idea in my head of the style that wanted to shoot as I’d seen some of the great effects that can be achieved with the camera and lens combinations I had over my shoulder.

For a first attempt I’m really happy with the promo video and in the future I’ll be offering this service to my event clients as a bolt on service. Photography is my main focus but a cool little promo video could be a nice addition for my clients without them having to go to the expense of employing a dedicated videographer.

I hope you like the work. The edit and soundtrack is intentionally a little ‘dirty/gritty’ as I wanted to stand out from the normal corporate style of shooting.

Bentley Continental GT V8 Launch Party.

Although the whole collection and concept was thought-provoking my favourite pieces on display were the skulls. The skill and attention to detail in creating them was outstanding and made for some interesting photographs.

Also, the guests who were arriving just kept on getting cooler and cooler and it was a pleasure to photograph them! It served as a little reminder of how un-cool I am… but hopefully my photographs make up for it?

I’d driven past their shop maybe over a 100 times before but I’d never taken much notice of it as I wasn’t really looking for a fireplace. I’ve got to say that their products are of an amazing quality. The shop in Syston ‘Evans Fireplaces’ displays a huge range of products and they even manufacture their own stone fire surrounds at their facility in Hinckley. It all looked of the very highest of standards to me.

They’d had their products photographed before so I had to photograph and light them in a very similar style to their existing shots. Here are the results.

The Jamb Showroom is one of the most amazing places I’ve visited. It was a series of linked rooms on different levels which housed the most eclectic selection of furniture and interior design pieces. The most expensive estimate I saw was £120,000.00 for a fire surround but I heard that there was a piece estimated to achieve £150,000.00! Maybe it was the giraffe’s head???

I hope that the photographs do the event justice and I also hope to photographing for Christie’s again in the near future!

This was another of the locations that my jaw dropped when I walked in. It was going to be just perfect to get some great photographs as it had so many hidden treasures. Whilst I was being given the tour of the showroom the grin on my face just got wider and wider.

Not only was the showroom filled with beautiful cars it also had: an F1 car driven by Gilles Villenueve, a luxurious (and really cool!) client area, another level full of stunning Ferraris in the basement level and a configurator room where clients chose every option of their dream car.

If this wasn’t enough the star of the show had to be the lift which transported the cars to the different levels. The lift was also used as the method to reveal cars to their new owners. Try to imagine this. You’ve ordered your brand new Ferrari and selected all of the options you wanted in the super-cool configurator room. When your car is ready for collection and you return to the showroom to see it for the first time. In the middle of the showroom is what appears to be a huge frosted glass box. At the flick of a switch the frosted glass goes to clear glass and your new car appears in the blink of an eye! Standing there in showroom condition underneath showroom lighting, looking breathtaking being presented in a glass box. Simply stunning and quite possibly the best way ever to view a car for the first time.

Ideally I would like to photograph products in a studio as opposed to on location but this wasn’t possible for this shoot so I travelled up to the client with my location studio equipment. We had a great room to shoot in which didn’t have any unwanted light spilling in. It also had air conditioning and a cold water dispenser in the corner so it was quite a nice shooting environment.

I can set up my on site studio equipment in almost any location. As long as it’s dust free and dark the photos will turn out great. The minimum area I need is 3m x 4m although larger areas are preferred!

Here are a few of the shots I took on the day. All in all there were about seven products that needed photographing which included a great new stand that they have developed which enables a tower unit, monitor, keyboard and mouse to be easily picked up in one go and transported.

Please note that these shots are pretty much how they came out of the camera and have received very little retouching. The design agency that is developing the new website will be carrying out the image editing.

Adam and the gang work so hard it’s untrue! The show itself included an incredible range music styles which had the guests out of their seats cheering. There was big band, swing and contemporary classics with a twist. There were also really cool dancing segments by the girls which included Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.

Guests were treated to a sumptuous three course meal served up by the Marriott and everyone went home with big smiles on their faces having enjoyed such a great show, food and drink.

Fariba was passionate about her wedding photography and I really think that this comes across in these photographs.  Due to the schedule of the day I photographed Fariba and Amir before the wedding ceremony. Fariba lived in the city centre so we had to think of a nice location to shoot at. Bradgate Park was chosen as the couple liked the look of an engagement shoot I shot there earlier in the year.

If I’m being totally honest I had my doubts as to whether the location was going to work for a wedding shoot at midday in December. The sun is SO low at this time of year that it would have made shooting conditions extremely difficult if there was no cloud cover. Although it was a cold and windy day the sun was hidden behind a blanket of dramatic cloud… which couldn’t have been more perfect!

I want to personally thank Fariba for her great attitude on the day. This shoot was before the actual ceremony and we had come straight from the beauty salon where she had just had her hair and make-up done. It didn’t phase her at all that there was a good chance that her shoes and dress would get dirty. This is a great credit to her because without this attitude we couldn’t have got the great shots that we did. This shoot was definitely a joint effort!

Here is the great feedback the I got from Fariba after showing her the preview images: “Wow, Gary, I am absolutely speechless. The photos are just amazing. We both love them and cannot wait to see the rest. Thank you very much for your professional job. You made our day more memorable with your fabulous shots“.

The launch party was hosted at the Goldsmiths Boutique and special guest DJ Lauren Pope played an hour long DJ set. The event had a great buzz about it. The boutique occupied a prominent corner in the mall and the tunes being played by the stunning DJ ensured that a large crowd gathered.

Lauren Pope is one of the stars of the hit TV show The Only Way is Essex and I’ve got to say that she was great on the evening. The launch event was open to the public and it was no trouble at all for her to pose with her fans and the autograph hunters.

Catering and event production was provided by Stones Events and once again they wowed the guests with a delicious selection of canapes and beverages.
